Maximum Non-Consent Towing Rates

All of the rates contained in this section may be adjusted by the operator annually as of October 1 to reflect annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) adjustments for services, as determined by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Private Property Non-Consent Tow Rate:

Mopeds, Motorcycles, Cars, Vehicle/Vessels weighing 10,000 pounds or less$200.00
Vehicles weighing 10,001 to 20,000 pounds$300.00
Vehicles weighing in excess of 20,000 pounds$600.00
A labor rate of up to a maximum of $135.00 per hour may be applied in circumstances where extraordinary effort, such as the use of multiple tow trucks, is required.

Storage Fee

Storage Fees may be imposed after the vehicle has been in the towing operator's care, custody, and control for more than six (6) hours.
 
$40.00 per 24-hour period or fraction thereof.
An additional fee applies for vehicles over 20 feet long$3.00 per foot
An additional fee applies for inside storage in addition to vehicles over 20 feet $50.00 per 24-hour period plus $3.00 per foot

Administrative / Lien Fee

An Administration /Lien Fee will be imposed on all vehicles.$50.00 charge for an initial fee
After 24 hours in storage, a notification/lien letter fee will be charged.$75.00 for the first notification
An additional charge will be applied for each notification letter if an administrative/lien is prepared.$25.00 for an additional letter issued after the first notification

After-Hour Gate Fee

The after-hour gate fee is applied from 5:01 PM to 7:59 AM, Monday through Friday (excluding Federal Holidays).$200.00 Maximum 
  • No other charges above these rates/fees established by the City of Key West City Commission shall be charged.
  • Police Department-directed Tow Rates/Fees and Consent Towing Rates/Fees may vary from this rate list.
  • Tow services are payable by Cash, Money Order, Valid Traveler's Check, Valid Bank Debit Card, or Credit Card.

If you feel you have been charged more than these published rates, you may submit a written complaint of the alleged overcharge to the City of Key West Parking Division.  The Parking Division will investigate the complaint, and Section 1-15 of the City of Key West Code of Ordinances shall punish any such valid violation.
