Foundation Inspection

This inspection is to be made after trenches are excavated and forms erected and shall at a minimum include the following building components:

  • Footers/grade beams
  • Monolithic slab-on-grade
  • Piling/pile caps
  • Stem-wall

Framing Inspection

The framing inspection is to be made after the following is complete:

  • Chimneys
  • Concealing wiring
  • Ducts and vents are complete
  • Fire blocking and bracing is in place
  • Framing
  • Pipes
  • Roof

Building Component Requirements

Before the framing inspection the building should at a minimum include the following components:

  • Accessibility
  • Curtain wall framing
  • Draft stopping/fire blocking
  • Energy insulation
  • Framing/trusses/bracing/connectors
  • Lintel/tie beams
  • Vertical cells/columns
  • Window/door frame

Sheathing Inspection

This inspection is to be made either as part of a dry-in inspection or done separately at the request of the contractor after all roof and wall sheathing and fasteners are complete and shall at a minimum include the following building components:

  • Roof sheathing
  • Roof/wall dry-in
  • Roofing Inspection: Shall at a minimum include the following building components:
    • Dry-In
    • Flashing
    • Insulation
    • Roof Coverings
  • Sheathing fasteners
  • Wall sheathing

Final Inspection

The Final Inspection should take place after the building is completed and ready for occupancy. Prior to this inspection all electrical, mechanical, roofing and plumbing inspections shall be completed.

Swimming Pool Inspection

First inspection is to be made after excavation and installation of reinforcing steel, bonding the main drain and prior to placing of concrete. Final inspection to be made when swimming pool is complete and all required enclosure requirements are in place.

Demolition Inspections

The first inspection to be made after the utility connections have been disconnected and secured in such a manner that no unsafe or unsanitary conditions shall exit during or after demolition operations. The final inspection is to be made after all demolition work is completed.
