The City Manager is responsible for the complete administrative management and delivery of city services and programs. The City Manager, hired by the City Commission, reports to the Mayor and Commissioners. The City Manager responds to the needs of the public by proactively seeking public feedback as the City's Chief Executive Officer, and acts as a liaison between the various departments of the government, the citizens of Key West, and the City Commission. All department heads, including the Police and Fire Chiefs, report directly to the City Manager.
The City Manager’s Department provides executive leadership in the management of all departments and enterprises of the City.

City Manager Patti McLauchlin was awarded the Zonta Club of Key West’s Community Service Award.
“Zonta is a service organization of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women through service and advocacy,” said outgoing Zonta President Amber Shaffer.
“This year’s selection for Zonta's Community Service award holds the top executive position in the City,” she said as she presented the award. “She works every day to improve our City and the lives of our residents.”
