Is My Property Under HARC Jurisdiction?

Is your property located within the boundaries of the local historic district or located within a historic zoning district overlay? If so, then your property falls under HARC jurisdiction, no matter if the building was constructed in 1880 or 1980. To confirm if a structure or property is under HARC regulation, please contact staff at HARC@cityofkeywest-fl.gov.

Structures and Sites Individually Listed in the National Register of Historic Places

For properties that are individually listed in the National Register of Historic Places, a Certificate of Appropriateness is required for interior and exterior changes.

 

Contributing Structures Outside the Boundaries of the Historic District

There are many structures outside of the historic district that are contributing to the historic district, and HARC has jurisdiction on all exterior changes to the building. Please contact staff at HARC@cityofkeywest-fl.gov to confirm if a structure or property is under HARC regulation.
