Tuesday COVID-19 Update

Faced with an unprecedented situation with the COVID-19 emergency, the City of Key West is closing all City recreational facilities. This includes the Martin Luther King, Jr. Pool, the Douglass Gym, the PAL Gym, all recreational fields and playgrounds.

All closures will be reevaluated on a daily basis.

The City strongly recommends that all facilities that attract gatherings of ten or more people voluntarily consider similar restrictions.

The City is also evaluating procedures to limit the gathering of individuals at tonight’s special City Commission meeting while still allowing public input. If you would like to submit a comment online, please use the eComment feature on the agenda. The City has created a video guide walking unfamiliar users through the process of creating an account and commenting on agenda items.

As of Tuesday, there have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Monroe County.

For up-to-date information on the status of Monroe County and COVID-19, go to www.Monroecountyem.com, www.floridahealth.gov, or www.CDC.gov. In addition, The Florida Department of Health has put up a 24/7 information hotline: 1-866-779-6121.
