Ralph was surprised and pleased with receiving the award and said, “I feel I do my job on a daily basis. I don’t look for a prize, I just do the job and I enjoy making a difference in the community.”
“His work ethic and dedication were obvious from the start," Scholl said.
“Ralph truly cares about the community and the city for which he works. He is an example of an employee who is never really 'off the clock.' Nothing is too much for him to handle and he will always do it with a smile. “
Major quickly moved up the ranks after starting with the City in 2008 as a Maintenance Worker I.
Ralph was promoted to the Parks and Recreation Facilities Superintendent in 2017 as a part of this position he oversees the Truman Waterfront Park.

He graduated from Key West High School where he also played football. Ralph has been involved in the past with coaching youth football, at one point being the president of the league. A lot of people know Ralph as a dog trainer. He has been working with numerous dogs and dog owners in the community for years, showing them how to be responsible and respectful pet owners.
