City Parks Recognized by Health Dept

The Florida Department of Health on Wednesday presented the City with signage proclaiming two City Parks as multigenerational parks. Nelson English and Truman Waterfron Park provide an array of options for all ages of users. The signs were presented during Wednesday’s City Commission meeting.

“You are the first in the county to provide them,” said the Health Department’s Gayle Glover. “They’re very beneficial, especially to those who have aged out of traditional parks.”

Nelson English Park was recently revamped with options that appeal to all age groups. Covered pavilions, playground equipment, basketball courts, and rehydration stations are features that make multigenerational parks an asset to their neighborhoods.

The new signs will be featured at the entrance of the parks.
