Commanders Graduate

Key West Police Capt. J.R. Torres and Lt. Sean Brandenburg recently completed 400 hours of training with the University of Louisville Southern Police Institute. The intensive Command Officers Development Course provides a strong foundation for providing outstanding law enforcement administration and management practices.

"I am proud and excited for Capt. Torres and Lt. Brandenburg," said Key West Police Chief Donie Lee. "As a graduate of the course, I know the course was demanding academically and personally for them.  I look forward to them now applying their new skills to enhance the mission of the department."

The course also prepares them for developing policies and procedures, determining the department's efficiency and effectiveness, and enhancing productivity.

Over the past five months, Capt. Torres and Lt. Brandenburg have traveled between Key West and the Broward County Community College Campus, alternating between class time and their duties at the Key West Police Department. On July 19th they graduated the course.
