The City of Key West, Florida

The Southernmost City in th Continental United States

Limited Opening of City Hall

As the City of Key West moves carefully toward reopening, City Hall – under the guidelines of Governor Ron DeSantis’s order – will open its doors on a limited basis beginning Monday, May 11th.

In keeping with the City’s own directives to non-essential businesses that was issued Sunday, access will be limited: Anyone wishing to enter the building will be temperature screened and required to wear a face mask. Social distance parameters will be clearly marked, and only five people at a time will be allowed inside the building. Entrance will be limited to the service desk at back side of City Hall, off United Street.

The City has continued to do business remotely throughout this COVID-19 crisis. This cautious opening is aimed at allowing some transactions that require a give and take between individuals.

City Manager Greg Veliz reminds the community to be more vigilant than ever, now that the city is stepping into the new normal. Follow the CDC guidelines, stay six feet away from others, wash your hands frequently, and wear your facemask. If we continue to follow these precautions, we can carefully restart our economic engine.
