Randy Monahan serves as Lieutenant in the Fire Prevention Division (Fire Marshal’s Office) with the Key West Fire Department. He joined the department in 2018 as a Firefighter/Paramedic, serving in that role prior to his promotion to Lieutenant.
Lt. Monahan is a certified Paramedic Instructor and EVOC Instructor and mentors students through the Key West High School Fire Academy. He is also a member of the department’s Hazardous Materials, Dive, and Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) teams.
He was recognized as Instructor of the Year in 2025 and is currently completing a master’s degree in Emergency Management. His promotion reflects his leadership, experience, and continued dedication to advancing public safety through prevention, education, and service to the community.
