Gregory Veliz, Jr. brings a unique background of professional athletics, education, and public service as a new member of the City of Key West team. After a career in professional baseball that included time in the Los Angeles Angels organization and the Mexican Baseball League, he returned to the University of Miami to complete his education.
Following his graduation, Gregory returned home to Key West after spending much of his adult life away. Having grown up closely connected to the City, often accompanying his father during his years of service with the Community Services Department, public service has long been an integral part of his life.
As he begins his role as the Special Events Coordinator with the City of Key West, Gregory looks forward to serving the Key West community and contributing to the City's continued success.
