Please Help Protect Florida's Sea Turtles & Habitats
 
Sea Turtle nesting season in Key West is March 1 through October 31 (Atlantic) and May 1 through October 31 (Gulf). During nesting season, be aware of sea turtles as you walk the beach and please respect their natural habitat. To learn more about sea turtle nesting season, click here.

Environmental Programs is responsible for: 
  • Review of recycling plans
  • Clean and Green Committee
  • Assisting Adopt-an-Area Island clean-up groups
  • Storm water education for city employees and citizens of our community
  • Educating city associates in the proper safe-disposal of hazardous waste
  • Many other programs associated with maintaining a clean, healthy environment for our community
Environmental Programs has many guidelines governed by the State of Florida to oversee and ensure implementation of protective plans for the health and safety of the environment for our community.
