Residential Parking Permit

Every year all vehicles need a new residential parking permit decal. The 2019-2020 decal is $20.00 and available October 1, 2019 at the Monroe County Tax Collector’s Office in the Harvey Government Center at 1200 Truman Ave. Office Hours: Monday through Friday 8AM – 4:45PM Tel. (305) 295-5010

Applicants will need to show proof of residency, a valid driver’s license and vehicle registration in order to obtain a residential parking permit decal.

Eligible Vehicles must be registered to one of the following:

  • A resident of the City of Key West
  • Key West Real Estate Property Owner
  • Active military personnel stationed in the Key West Area
  • Seasonal resident – 4 months or longer
  • A business that holds a Key West business Tax Receipt.

Residential permits allow parking for up to 4 hours- one time per day - without paying in one of 7 lots:

  1. Fire station lot in 600 block of Simonton,
  2. Main lot (only) of Key West Bight in 800 block of Caroline,
  3. Old Town Garage aka Park ‘n’ Ride in 300 block of Grinnell Street.
  4. Truman Waterfront Park (except during events).
  5. Three lots at Butler Blvd. and Angela Street
  6. Smathers Beach on-street along South Roosevelt Blvd.
  7. Jackson Square Lot at 600 block of Thomas Street.


  • You must enter your permit number in the pay station and display your receipt on the dashboard to get the 4-hour credit.
  • Vehicles need a new annual residential parking decal to park in a residential space. Attach permit decal on the windshield on the driver's side at the bottom.
  • Monroe County Tags are no longer accepted.
