The City Commission and staff had the opportunity to recognize a great honor recently bestowed on the City’s Risk Manager Laura Estevez. Just Begin Magazine awarded Estevez with the Emerging Leader Award for 2019.
This award recognizes professionals who are extremely effective, provide a higher quality of care, and produce better outcomes with lower claims costs.
“Estevez has demonstrated a unique understanding of the workers' compensation system and has made it easier for all City employees involved in a claim,” reads the commendation. “Her ability to go above and beyond, and dedication to providing the right treatment and care to injured workers has been recognized in this award.”
This award recognizes physicians, health service providers and other professionals within the workers' compensation industry through nomination by their colleagues, clients, and others for consistent performance providing excellence in customer service as well as expertise within their specific field of work. In Touch Awards recognizes individuals who have the greatest impact on the outcome of a workers' compensation claim.
“This is especially fitting for Laura,” said City Manager Greg Veliz. She truly is an emerging leader and, staying with the City, good things will happen for her. Awesome job!”
