[ARCHIVED] Help Keep All-City Surface Playing Fields Clean and Beautiful

City Seal

The City of Key West wants to remind the community that pets are not allowed on any surface playing field.  Surface playing fields would include Wickers Field, the Clayton Sterling Baseball Complex, the Rosa Hernandez Girls Softball Field, and Cozumel Park on 16th Terrace in new town.  In Old Town, the areas such as Nelson English Park at the Martin Luther King Community Center, the Truman Waterfront splash pad, the Matthew L. Gilleran Sports Field, and the nearby sports field formerly bearing that name would also be considered surface playing fields.

Please keep your pets in the proper areas and clean up after them.  Pets on leashes are welcome in any of the open spaces of a City park and off-leash at the popular new dog park at Truman Waterfront Park.    There is also a dog park between the new Shine Building and the Navy gates, and it features a playground/training area with ramps, jumps, and tubes.  Monroe County has a large dog park located at Higgs Beach as well.

Together we can all keep Key West clean and beautiful!
