[ARCHIVED] Lt. Vazquez Promoted and Retires after 30 Years of Service

Police Badge

Born and raised in Key West, Capt. Vazquez  came to the Key West Police Department in 1991. He worked for years as one of the department’s “jump out boys,” working undercover to stop drug dealer on the island. His son, Sgt. Billy Vazquez, followed his father’s lead to police work and is currently a patrol sergeant.

Capt. Vazquez will remain with the department as a reserve officer. 

Lt. Vazquez promoted and retires after 30 years of service

Chief Brandenburg presented Capt. Vazquez with two plaques – one from the City and one from the Department – in honor of his 30 years of dedicated professionalism and service.
