[ARCHIVED] Key West E-Waste Day

City Seal

During their October meeting, Mayor Teri Johnston and the Key West City Commission proclaimed the first Saturday of each month as E-Waste Day.

“Key West recognizes the importance of protecting and preserving our natural resources," reads the proclamation, "and works to make the world a better place by adopting conscientious living habits that will improve our daily lives and bring about a cleaner, safer, and healthier environment."

The City, in partnership with Waste Management, hosts an e-waste drop-off on the first Saturday of each month at Indigenous Park in conjunction with a hazardous waste drop-off. Each month, residents can dispose of these items safely from 8 AM until noon.

“By encouraging businesses, state agencies, nonprofit organizations, schools, and individuals to celebrate Key West E-Waste Day, we can further promote electronic recycling as an environmentally efficient and economically smart way of life,” reads the proclamation.
