Inside the City:

State Certified or Registered Contractors

1. Complete Contractor (State-Licensed) Licensing Application (PDF)
   1. Must indicate a commercial business address
   2. Complete the Mobile Service Addendum
2. Copies of the following documents are required:
   1. License from the State of Florida or another website as applicable
   2. Liability insurance and worker's compensation coverage or exemption
   3. Lease or deed (commercial business addresses only)
3. The annual fee is $341.00 (pro-rated)

All Other Contractors (Specialty Contractors)

1. Complete Contractor (Specialty) Licensing Application (PDF)
   1. Must indicate a commercial business address, or
   2. Complete the Mobile Service Addendum
2. Copies of the following documents are required:
   1. Competency card and local Business Tax Receipt from any Florida jurisdiction
   2. Liability insurance and worker's compensation coverage or exemption
   3. Lease or deed (commercial business addresses only)
3. The annual fee is $108.00 (pro-rated)

Note on Specialty Contractors

All Specialty Contractors must have a competency card to indicate that they have passed the required testing for their trade.  The City of Key West does not offer to test.  Please contact the Monroe County Contractor License Coordinator at (305) 289-2583 for more information regarding testing.

Non-DBPR State Contractors

If the state license is not available through DBPR:

1. Complete Contractor (State-Licensed) Licensing Application (PDF)
2. Copies of the following documents are required:
   1. State of Florida license
   2. Liability insurance and worker's compensation coverage or exemption
   3. Local Business Tax Receipt from any Florida jurisdiction
3. The annual fee is $341.00 (pro-rated)

All Other Contractors (Specialty Contractors)
