Chief Sean BrandenburgChief Sean T. Brandenburg was sworn in on December 6, 2018, having worked his way up through the ranks of the Key West Police Department. Chief Brandenburg has been a law enforcement officer since 1990, serving his first 12 years in Indiana and joining the Key West Police Department in 2002.

Chief Brandenburg has been involved with the Special Response Team and Mounted Units, served as the Detective Sergeant in Special Ops Unit and – since 2012 – served as the night shift operations Lieutenant. In addition, he served as unit coordinator for the department’s K-9 Unit. His canine partner Wind retired in 2011.

Chief Brandenburg was promoted to Administrative Division Captain in 2014. He has received the Life Saving Medal on two separate occasions during his tenure. In 2016, Chief Brandenburg graduated the 266th Session of the FBI National Academy Program at Quantico, Virginia.
