Key West Police Chief Sean Brandenburg swore in newly-promoted Capt. Bradley Lariz at the beginning of the November City Commission meeting. The Commission Chambers were packed with friends, family, and a large contingent of law enforcement. And it’s no wonder; Capt. Lariz’s family has over 100 years of collective experience in law enforcement.
After the swearing-in ceremony, Captain Lariz’s son, Anthony Lariz, pinned the new badge on his father’s chest.
Captain Lariz comes from a long line of police officers in his family. His grandfather, Harry Lariz was a reserve Officer, his father; Tony Lariz retired as a Captain; his Uncle David retired as Deputy Chief; his Uncle Harry retired as a Lieutenant; and his cousin Craig Lariz served as an Officer, all with the Key West Police Department. In addition, his cousin David Lariz served with the Monroe County Sherriff’s Office.
