[ARCHIVED] The Community is Invited to Meet and Greet the City Manager Candidates

City Seal

The community is invited to meet and greet the City Manager candidates.  On February 13, 2023, from 4-7 PM, the candidates will be on hand to talk with community members.  The Meet and Greet will be held at the Historic Seaport's Waterfront Brewery on the 2nd floor outside deck at 201 Front Street.

The finalists for the position are David Burke, Albert Childress, Thaddeus Cohen, and Abraham Conn.

This gathering is one of the final steps in a process that began last August with the retention of the Mercer Group, who headed up the search.  That same month, the Mayor and Commissioners appointed community members to a selection committee that honed down the list of finalists.

The committee provided its recommendations, and now it's up to the Mayor and Commissioners to select the next City Manager.  The candidates will be meeting one on one with the Commissioners and meeting Department Directors.  The meetings will culminate in this excellent opportunity for the community to meet with the candidates and ask them questions.

The Commission intends to name a new City Manager at a Special City Commission meeting to be held in person at 5 PM in City Hall Commission Chmabers on February 15, 2023.

The City's current City Manager, Patti McLauchlin, informed the Commission in July of 2022 that she intended to retire when her contract expires in July 2023 after serving more than 40 years with the City of Key West.
