Mayor Teri Johnston and the Key West City Commission commended Helen Thomas Koger for her upcoming 100th birthday.
Koger was born in Applegate, Michigan, and raised on Detroit's east side. She married her neighbor Seabring Koger in 1942 and worked at Burroughs Corporation in Detroit from 1958, and retired in 1985.
Koger moved to Key West in 2004 and became an active Key West Garden Club member.
Helen Thomas Koger will be 100 years old on March 20.
