In an awards ceremony hosted by the Grand Key Resort, Chief Sean Brandenburg named Detective Marcus del Valle, Officer of the First Half.
Citing his diligent work, including a case in which a suspect was arrested for multiple incidents of sexual battery, robbery, false imprisonment, stalking, and battery. The suspect was preying on women in the downtown area during the early morning hours. With the assistance of the detective unit and road patrol, Detective del Valle conducted undercover surveillance operations and ultimately identified and arrested the suspect on multiple felony charges.
“Detective del Valle can always be counted on, both when he is called to investigate a case or to help other detectives working their own cases,” said Chief Brandenburg. “He always works diligently to solve every case he is assigned. Det. del Valle has represented the Key West Police Department in a professional manner, which brought distinguished professional recognition to the Department.”
