The City of Key West has declared a State of Local Emergency due to potential effects of Tropical Storm Elsa.
The following are precautions that residents need to be aware of:
- The Lower Keys Shuttle will not have service on Monday.
- Transit’s North and South Lines and the Duval Loop have stopped running as of noon on Monday, July 5.
- All City offices will be closed on Tuesday, July 6.
- The Special City Commission meeting schedule for Tuesday, July 5, has been cancelled and has been rescheduled for Monday, July 12th at 5:00 PM.
- Monday trash pickup will proceed as normal. Put bins away before Monday afternoon.
- The Transfer Station will be closed on Tuesday, July 6.
- There will be NO trash pickup on Tuesday, July 6. The schedule has been shifted forward by one (1) day. If your pickup is scheduled for Tuesday service, it will now occur on Wednesday, Wednesday service will now occur on Thursday, etc.
- Do not put out large items or excess yard waste; it will become a hazard in the storm.
- Key West City Parks and the Community Pool will close at noon on Monday.
